ASUU Faults Gombe, Plateau Over Unimplemented 2025 Agreement

ASUU Bauchi Zone has accused the Gombe and Plateau State governments of failing to implement the 2025 agreement with the union. The union also raised concerns over unpaid welfare entitlements, including the ₦70,000 minimum wage at Gombe State University, warning that continued delays could lead to industrial unrest.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Bauchi Zone, has accused the Gombe and Plateau State governments of failing to implement the 2025 agreement reached with the union, despite the Federal Government beginning implementation of the salary component. Speaking at Gombe State University, the Zonal Coordinator, Comrade Timothy Aku Namo, urged the affected states to honour the agreement to prevent industrial unrest. The ASUU Gombe State University chapter also highlighted unresolved welfare issues, including the non-implementation of the ₦70,000 national minimum wage and other outstanding entitlements. The union warned that continued delays could disrupt academic activities if the issues are not addressed promptly. Full video below
