Gombe Police Arrest Eight-Man Crime Syndicate, Rescue Kidnap Victim

The Gombe State Police Command has arrested an eight-man syndicate linked to armed robbery and internet fraud, rescued an abducted eight-year-old boy, impounded 121 vehicles for traffic violations, prosecuted 114 offenders, and arrested 44 suspects during raids on criminal hideouts as part of efforts to strengthen security across the state.

The Gombe State Police Command has announced major breakthroughs in its fight against crime, including the arrest of an eight-man syndicate allegedly involved in armed robbery and internet fraud, the rescue of an abducted eight-year-old boy, and the arrest of 44 suspects during raids on criminal hideouts in Gombe metropolis. Commissioner of Police Umar Ahmed Chuso disclosed this while briefing journalists in Gombe. He said the Command also impounded 121 vehicles for violating the National Road Traffic Regulations, while 114 offenders have been prosecuted. The Police Commissioner added that the Command has launched the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) to tackle cultism, drug abuse and other social vices through community engagement and public sensitization. He urged residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information, assuring that the Command remains committed to protecting lives and property across Gombe State.
