Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has launched the “Unite Against Terror” campaign, calling on residents to work closely with security agencies in the fight against terrorism and other criminal activities. He said security remains the bedrock of peace and development, noting that Gombe’s relative stability is the result of deliberate investments in security infrastructure and the vigilance of its people. The Governor highlighted key measures introduced by his administration, including the establishment of the Ministry of Internal Security, GOSTEC, Operation Hattara, the provision of operational vehicles and logistics to security agencies, and the strengthening of community vigilante groups. He also disclosed that, as Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, he is leading efforts to establish the Northern States Security Trust Fund to improve regional cooperation and resource mobilization in tackling insecurity. Governor Inuwa Yahaya urged residents to remain vigilant, promptly report suspicious activities, and continue supporting the efforts of the state and federal governments to protect lives and property and defeat terrorism.
