Gombe Governor Swears In Newly Elected Local Government Chairmen

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has sworn in the 24 newly elected local government chairmen and their deputies, urging them to provide transparent, accountable, and people-centered leadership. The new officials pledged to serve diligently following the APC’s victory in all 24 chairmanship and 240 councillorship seats in Saturday’s local government elections.

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has sworn in the 24 newly elected local government chairmen and their deputies, urging them to provide transparent, accountable, and people-oriented leadership. The Governor said local governments remain the closest tier of government to the people and charged the new officials to build on his administration’s achievements at the grassroots. Governor Inuwa Yahaya also reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening grassroots governance, noting that the establishment of the Local Council Development Areas was aimed at bringing government closer to communities and accelerating development across the state. Speaking on behalf of the new council chairmen, the Chairman of Gombe Local Government, Abdullahi Bappah Garkuwa, pledged that they would justify the confidence reposed in them by providing exemplary leadership and serving the people diligently. The inauguration comes after Saturday’s local government elections, in which the APC secured all 24 chairmanship seats and all 240 councillorship positions across Gombe State. Full video below
