Gombe State Chief Judge has urged judicial officers to embrace digitalisation as she presents laptops, printers and routers to Small Claims Court Magistrates to enhance effective justice delivery.

The Chief Judge of Gombe State has presented laptops, printers and routers to Magistrates of the Small Claims Court in the state as part of efforts to promote digitalisation and improve justice delivery. The presentation, according to the Chief Judge, is aimed at equipping judicial officers with the necessary tools to effectively adapt to the growing use of technology in the Nigerian judiciary system. She urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the gadgets provided, while appreciating the executive and legislative arms of government for their continued support and collaboration with the judiciary. The Secretary of the Gombe State Small Claims Court, Alhussain Ibrahim, also presented the performance report of the courts, with Dukku Small Claims Court recording the highest number of cases in the state. Judicial officials said the distribution of the equipment was based on performance and forms part of measures to enhance efficiency, transparency and timely delivery of justice across the state. The Small Claims Court is a special division of the Magistrate Court established to provide a simple, speedy and affordable process for resolving civil disputes involving relatively small monetary claims.
