Federal Government Flag Off Farm Input Distribution in Gombe

The Federal Government, in partnership with the Bank of Agriculture and Algir Integrated Services Limited, has launched the distribution of farm inputs to 5,640 smallholder farmers in Gombe State under the Renewed Hope Smallholder Support and Value Chain Fund. The programme, which is part of a nationwide intervention targeting two million farmers, is designed to boost agricultural productivity, strengthen value chains and improve food security. Beyond farm inputs, beneficiaries will also have access to financing, extension services and guaranteed markets for their produce. Beneficiaries described the initiative as timely, noting that it will reduce production costs, increase crop yields and improve their livelihoods. They also urged the Federal Government to sustain and expand the programme so that more farmers can benefit in future farming seasons. Watch the full report below.
